Haley was 5 weeks old before any of our family came to see her. This wasn't because they didn't want to, but with the move and everything we thought the timing would be best if people came once we were here in TX and they could help us get settled (if I had to do it again, I would have as many people come to help us get to TX as possible, what were we thinking?).
My mom came out last week and I absolutely loved having her here. I'm usually a pretty independent person, I like it when family comes to visit and I'm sad to see them go, but this time I felt like I was seeing my last remaining family member after years of no contact or something (dramatic, yes, but it was pretty dramatic). She was a huge help with Haley, just so happens that Haley had some pretty bad reflux spells so it was nice to have an experienced shoulder to help calm her (and me).
When she left I felt like I'd never see a friendly face again (again, dramatic). Maybe it has something to do with emotional support (not that Wes doesn't do a great job) or maybe it was just fun to have someone to go to Target with, whatever it is, I hope more family comes. Grammie Pierson is coming next week, and boy are we looking forward to that.
I didn't take any pictures of my mom with me (I don't really think of things like that) but these are a couple with the babe. The bottom one is of Haley's cute church dress (only a little big now), what a little doll.

Moms are the BEST! There is no better person in the world to have around after having a baby than your mom. I always bawl my eyes out every time my mom leaves after a visit! Doesn't your mom look way too young to be a grandma? (or should I say "nana?") :)
Grandma visits are the best! I am so glad you had a great time with your mama!
Mom is lookin' good! and Haley is looking a little chunky in the face...cute!
I can't believe you had to wait that long. I think you have every reason to be dramatic. I wouldn't have made it through without my mom, I still love her guidance as often as I can get it.
Moms rock, don't they? If I am half the mom that my mom is, my kids will be very lucky! Glad you had a nice visit!
Do you love having a baby in the home? It sounds fun!
