Here are Day #2 photos, oh how she's grown! (Just kidding, she's lost 6 oz.) This girl is amazing, I know that's probably how most new parents feel but she really is amazing. She gives the tiniest little monkey cry when she cries and the saddest little pouty face when she wants something, she rarely opens both eyes at the same time, keeps her hands as close to her face as possible (something we saw even before birth in her ultrasounds) and she's getting known amongst the nursing staff as the baby with the frosted highlights in her hair. She already has Wes wrapped around her finger (seriously, he welled up with tears when they asked that he leave her in the nursery for tests) and I'm pretty proud of her too.
We've changed her name already, she's Haley Elizabeth Pierson. We'd had Tana (rhymes with Jana) at the top of our list for a while and pretty much thought that's what she'd be. When she was first born I was holding her, looked at Wes and told him I didn't know if she was a Tana, "I think she looks like a Haley." The funny thing is that we hadn't even talked about Haley, wasn't even on the list, have NO idea where that came from. We mulled it over today and took polls from just about everyone who entered the room (votes somewhat split) but I think we're feeling pretty good about the change (see how I left just a little bit of room for change with the word think).
I'm doing great, epidurals are incredible, that about covers it.
We have a kid.
