District Champs!

Here are 3 fuzzy pictures of Wes coaching. The first one is him yelling something, the second one is him giving a pep talk during half time (sometimes we can hear little snippets in the stands, he's usually got some inspirational message about eating an elephant one bite at a time or going out and knocking them in the teeth). The third one is of him teaching that kid next to him some stance.

Oakton's Varsity football team is about to finish the regular season 10-0, go Cougars! The freshman team isn't finished playing yet because they've had to reschedule games but while they're not undefeated, they're doing really well and Wes and the other 2 freshman coaches are doing a great job with the kids (everyone is noticing what a different feel the team has this year). They're now getting the Varsity team ready for Regional playoffs and hopefully they'll be in contention for the State Championship again (2 years ago they won). I can't believe how much time they spend, this has me rethinking my support of him ever trying to coach at a higher level (just kidding Wes, don't worry), but obviously their hard work is paying off. Good thing we couldn't go anywhere for Thanksgiving anyway because if they get through the first few rounds, they'll have practice Thanksgiving Day. I wish you all could come out and see him in action, it's like he was meant to do this, you can just tell he's loving every minute of it (even if he is shouting at the top of his lungs and vein in his neck is about to pop).

so exciting to hear your baby news. . . .not so exciting about the bed rest--hang in there. I can't imagine how hard that would be. You look so cute pregnant, though--is that any consolation?? What a great husband you have to take such good care of you. I think that photo of him admiring the ultrasound pics is sooo cute. What a good daddy! Take care.

Welp, Coaching is absolutely in his genes. Our dad coached forever, and his life long dream is to retire and coach either high school or jr college!

Isn't it just amazing how football can bring out the good in men (even with the elephant comments!!)
